What kind of car should I buy my college-age son?

I was reading an article that the Honda Civic and Buick LeSabre would great for kids going to school. But I was talking to our neighbor and she bought her son an old BMW, like 2011, and her son didn't talk to her for weeks. I want my kid to have a good time at college and not be embarrassed, but the article said these two cars were really good for teenagers.

I was kinda iffy when I read about the Honda and then they said the Buick, so this may be made up or something.

My kid would be lucky if they ever got another gift after pulling a stunt like that. If it's not good enough for the spoiled brat, they can work, save up their money and buy what they want. They need a quick dose of reality.

Honda makes reliable cars, I wouldn't touch a Buick right now with all of GM's troubles.

Toyota scion! Sick car… I'm 24, female and i own one, i love it. Its great (27,000) new, its sporty yet affordable on insurance! Hope that helps

Well I would say a sportier car, I bet he would look and feel awesome in it. Unless he wants a bigger car like a big pickup truck or hummer. I would ask him what type of car he would want first

I wish I had a parent like you, I have to work hard for everything I get… Lol
My male friend who is 17 has the Suzuki Swift Sport 2014 black. He loves it so far. This isn't his car but it black with the exact same blue strips. Its actually pretty sick for a small car. Also good on fuel as well which comes in handy when fuel is over priced. What kind of car should I buy my college-age son

An old cheap used one
because i'm sure that he will crush it

Your son is more than old enough to get a p-t job to pay for a used car of their choice, especially if you're
already paying for their other college related expences. Their focus should be on school, not looking cool.

  • What kind of car should i buy? All i have is 2800$ i need a car that will last me a couple years. I was thinking of buying a honda, how many milles is to much? How much is a good deal? Appreciate any input
  • What age car should I choose for delivery pizza job? When shopping for used car, I noticed same make and model values dropped fast from brand new into few years old. Now I saw one 10 years old for 5999. 15 years old for 4999, 20 years old for 3999, 25 years old for 3499. Which would you choose? It's all same manufacturers make and model. All 4 of them have 40,000 miles on it. I got all of them inspected and they all excellent conditions. They all are Honda. Which would you pick?
  • Should I let my son do this? He wants to buy a Honda S2000 with 73,000 miles for $12,500 with his own money. I'm ok with it but I advise him not to. He wants to buy it now knowing how hard it is to come across a 2001 With that low of miles in great condition witch i believe is true. This will be his first car and he is a responsible driver but should I let him buy it? Part of me says yes and the other half no.
  • What small car can I buy for college? I really want to know of some small cars I can purchase for College, like a mini cooper or mazda demio or honda fit or even a fiat. Price and Brand and not an issue.
