What's a good car to sleep in for under $5000?
I'm going on a long trip across America and need a car with lots of room to sleep in during it.
Currently I own a Honda Civic which is obviously not very roomy but uncomfortable.
So which car under $5000 is a good car for this long trip?
No car. Buy a van like a VW that has a bed and kitchen.
One on the Ford Panther platform, like a Mercury Grand Marquis, or a Ford Crown Vick.
Or go can go to a hotel/motel without spending a fortune, if not then sleep in the trunk it's probably roomy just put the back seats down.
Buy a used van… You'll have a roof over your head, room to stretch out in and room to carry everything you are bringing with you after you remove the pews. Hippies did that throughout the 1960s and 70s…
Van, larger SUV or station wagon. Even a hatchback if it's long enough with rear seat folded down and you don't have much stuff with you. I even knew someone who took the passenger seat out of a VW bug and built a platform to sleep on, so almost any vehicle could work if you don't need a passenger seat. For comfort, a van is best because you can at least kneel inside or sit on a seat, bed or platform with lots of headroom, making clothes changes and "sponge baths" easier, but the full size ones are not great on gas mileage. Minivans offer a lot of "bang for the buck" for a single traveler. Mazda, Honda and Toyota are the most reliable.

- What's a good car with a $5000 budget? I don't know too much about cars even though my father is a mechanic. 19 year old guy with only 5000 for my first car. I like Honda's, BMW's, even Rx8's but I'm skeptical about picking a car. What are goods and bads about said cars? Any suggestions on specific cars that are reliable, hardly give problems, and look decent? Please and thank you in advance.
- 5000 to spend on a used car? Hi, I'm 17, and I have 5000 dollars to spend on a replacement car. I'm moving from a Honda Odyssey that recently died and appreciated its safety and practicality and general reliability, But Ideally With my next car I could get a *slightly* more luxurious, and fun to drive vehicle that still maintains a level of practicality. What are your opinions on what to buy? I'm open to different body styles
