What's the best way to start removing paint on a car?
So I just bought a Honda civic (used off crag's list) and I want to paint it flat green, no gloss or anything. I want to (at least try) to do it on my own, Not sure if ill paint it myself but I want to strip the paint and lay the primer. However I'm not sure what's the best way to start. And what's faster to remove the paint and clear coat.
You don't need to take it down to bare metal. You only need to feather any chipped areas or differences in painted/removed areas, knock off the clear and correct any imperfect spots
The surface needs to be clean and slightly scuffed for primer to adhere unless you're using a type primer that will etch
- Should I paint over a bad tear in my bumper, or order a new one and have the mechanics install it then have them paint it? I recently bought a used 1997 Honda Prelude. It's red and badly sun faded and has a bad tear on the rear bumper. I was wondering whether I should just have it painted over or order a whole new bumper and have the people at the shop install it and paint it for me. Any suggestions?
- Removing baffles from 1986 honda manga 700/750 advice? Trying to get some advice on how to do, what will it affect, and will i have to do do anything else to the carburetor/ anything?
- What's the best way to remove paint off of motorcycle fairings? I just purchased a 2015 Honda CB300F and I love it. My only issue is that the previous owner had spray painted the side fairings white, and now the paint is chipping off. All together it was a pretty sloppy job. I was thinking of maybe using a paint remover, but would that damage the plastic?
- What can be the best way to fix CEL? I have a honda civic 2005 automatic. I'm trying to fix it to pass the smog test but the CEL comes on. I took it to Autozone to see what code it is. It turned out to be P0741. I looked it up and it has to do with torque converter. Now, a friend offered to take my car to his mechanic and the guy said it has to replace 3 sensors. I don't know what to believe. The car works perfectly fine.
