Wheel alignment or replace shock absorbers?
Hi so I have a 2000 Honda civic and I've had for about 2 years now. The problem is every once in a while going over bumps or railroad tracks on the front right tire you can hear as if something is rattling in there like if it was loose! It's only on that side, also when going over railroad tracks the car bounces for a short time, wheels also getting wore out pretty quick! I don't have enough money right now too do both wheel alignment and replace shock absorbers unfortunately. So I need to know which of those two options are better to do right now?
Rather than waste money guessing take it to the shop
When you replace the struts it'll need an alignment.
YES… You need need shocks == Sears has good shocks and the Firestone Tire Stores also… Bad shock absorbers will cause excessive tire wear…
Sounds to me like you need that front right strut replaced first. Excessive bouncing is probably what wore the tire out. You can get a replacement strut pretty cheaply on Rockauto but if you need to save money you can call some salvage yards and get a decent used one for a fair price
- What weight (kilograms) would I need for a Honda 350d rear shock absorber? So I can't find the specifications for the stock shocks and the ones I've got are clapped out and need replacing. I have measured the size of the shocks including the fixing sizes, but I'm not sure about the weight aspect, I'm looking to buy some aftermarket shocks to replace the originals. Any advice is welcomed
- What is this sound coming from under the truck brand new 2018 honda ridgeline after I did the wheel alignment? When I back up It has that quick initial metal stretching sound and I only noticed it after the alignment was done. What is it and how should I fix this?
- What are the front tire alignment specs for Honda Trx300ex 2007? My steering is leaning to the left on my atv and I'm having problems finding the specs on front end alignment if anyone can find or knows the specs please tell me!
- Purchase dropped Honda Ruckus? Front wheel alignment is slightly off? I'm looking to purchase a Honda ruckus. I found a used one that was dropped several times. The steering alignment is off so you have to turn the handlebars slightly to the side to go straight. There's no damage to the body but I'm wondering if this is something that can easily be repaired or should I stay away. Overall it runs well and has a little over 4K miles.
