When do I need an inspection sticker and registration for my new car in Massachusetts by?
I just bought a 2014 Honda Civic Ex in Massachusetts today, and there's no inspection sticker or registration. There's an oil change sticker on it. I tried calling the car dealer but he didn't return my call yet. Will I get in trouble if I drive it to work tomorrow? I work in New Hampshire, by the way.
You have no inspection or plates? Yeah, you will have trouble. Are you a Mass resident? Did you buy the car in MA? If so, why didn't you have the dealer register and inspect it for you. Most of them will do it and only charge the actual costs of registration. Beats standing in line at the RMV.
However, since MA does not do temporary plates, you CAN use your old ones on your new car for up to 7 days before you get a chance to transfer them to the new car. Keep your bill of sale in your car for proof.
- Does buying a motorcycle from a private seller w/ registration automatically cancel the registration? I'm selling my Honda Grom to a buyer and was wondering if he buys my bike, will my registration automatically get terminated after I sign the title over? Because a friend told me even if the registration is up to date, it gets terminated after selling it because the new owner will have to register anyways. I ask because my bike registration has been expired since August 2018.
- I bought a car from Tony Honda of Hawaii and I found out this year that it won't pass inspection when I took it in? The Rims stick out past the wheel well and and that wouldn t allow a pass. So it doesn't have any recon stickers and somehow they got it to pass. What can I do, do I need to speak to legal on the navy base. Can they take this car back? They never told me about this tuff and they don't exactly have paper work for it either. Somehow they made it pass the first time
- How to tell if my registration was included when I bought my used car from Honda? I bought a 2010 Hyundai Sonata on February 14, 2014. On my contract under Vehicle license fees, it says I paid $208.00. It also says that I paid $20.00 for Registration/Transfer/Titling Fees. It is now May 1st, and I have not received ANYTHING at all from the DMV. What should I do? P.S. I'm in the state of California
- How do I get license plates and registration after purchasing a car from the dealership? I bought a "certified used" Honda from a honda dealership in North Carolina. They gave me a slip of paper that says 30 day temporary marker receipt and a paper tag. I paid for the tax and tag so I assume they are handling this. But do I need to pay them a visit to pick up my tag? How does this work. It wasn't explained well. Any advice is appreciated. I haven't calle them yet because I want to be a bit more educated so I don't sound stupid when I call.
