Where is the ECU located on my 93 Civic?
Hi i'd like to know where my ECU for my 1993 Honda Civic is located? And is it easy to replace myself or does it require an experienced mechanic for the job.

- What would changing my ecu do? I have a 1997 honda civic dx coupe automatic. I have a stock ecu in it. I also have a p2p ecu and a p28 ecu. What would happen of i were to swap them out. Would i have increase power. Or what would happen. And do i need anything speacial to swap?
- Switch to non vtec without an ecu change? I have a 97 honda civic ex vtec with a d16y8 motor that's blown. I want to replace it with a d16y7 that doesn't have vtec since it's cheaper and I hardly use it to go fast anyways. I read everywhere that it won't accelerate past 5000 rpm's if the ecu isn't switched and it will also cause a check engine light. I was wondering if there was an easy way to not have to switch the ecu but not have those problems caused.
- 96 Civic EX with B18B1 swapped engine ECU error? Just bought a 96 Honda Civic with a swapped B18B1 engine. With no check engine light on, took it to a California smog shop to get it tested, it couldn t be read. Car turns on and drives good, has no check engine light on and can't be tested. I'm not sure what to check for as far as the harness is concerned, which I'm assuming is where the problem is. Any info, tips or links that could help me troubleshoot this problem would be appreciated.
- 2001 civic ECU swap. Do numbers have to be exact? ECU in my 2001 civic blew because the alternator bolt wasn't completely tightened after timing belt job. Old ECU numbers is 37820-PLR-C53 (2001 civic ex 2 door Vtec). Junkyard ECU 37820-PLR-C56 (2002 civic ex 2 door Vtec) I have been unable to find an exact match. Looking at forums some have had success with some slight differences in numbers others say exact. Will the junkyard ECU work in my car after the immobilizer has been programmed by Honda?
