Where to find my 2000 honda civic serial number?
Yesterday I bought it in cash, not with a dealer. I saw that the radio didn't work and read online that I need the number in order to input the code. I looked everywhere, side of the door on the dash in the papers, and I can't find it. The only paper I'm missing is the pink slip and the guy said he'll give me that today cause I was 100 short with the money so could it be there? Or should I just take it to my local honda dealer? What can I do to get the serial number?
Look in the lower front corner of the driver side of the windshield.
But before that, get the pink slip, otherwise you will be only able to get about $100 foe it at the scrapyard as it will be impossible to register…
Do you mean the vin #? It's usually located on the dash if you look at it on the drivers side and look in from the front windshield.
NEVER take possession or pay money on a car that good title is not in hand. How do you know the numbers on the car will match the title? How do you know he'll give you the title? That car without title is worth junk price; $100.
Where to look: open the hood and look back on the firewall on the driver's side of the engine compartment. It is also on the dash as you look through the windshield on the driver's side. It is also on the door jam on the driver's side. IF these numbers are missing, you may have just bought a stolen car that was stripped of ID tags. ALWAYS ask for title in hand before releasing the cash!
The number they are referring to is on the back of the radio. It has to be pulled and read. Then Honda has to decode it and let you know what your pass code is.

You are talking about the code for the radio. All you have to do is go to the Honda Owners website and register your Civic. After registering the car look on the left side of the home page under quick links for Retrieve Radio/Navi Code. Click that and follow the instructions to get the code.
