Which car will be the best option for a student and first car under 7k? I put my couple choose in the details box

Nissan Altima, Nissan Maxima, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Kia Rio, Mazda 3, Hyundai Sonata or Elantra, Hyundai Accent

I just need to know which will be the best?

Perhaps when your have completed your studies you will appreciate the need for details - 7k in what currency in what area of the world for example. This is an international forum. At some point too you may come to realise that whatever you buy and whatever its reputation at those price levels you are entering a used car lottery - no prize in this lottery just unknown losses at an unknown time.

Yes

If you ask me I would say Corolla and Civic are best, followed by the other Japanese cars, Nissan and Mazda (except Maxima, which is really too big and fancy for a first car). Kia and Hyundai are Korean, so not as good as Japanese though they are Japanese designs.

But people do buy all these cars and if any of them were that bad they'd be off the market soon enough. Look at them all and decide which you like best! You'd probably be happy with any of them.

  • What car would be the best option? I'm 18, (female) and my parents need to figure out what car to get me for Christmas. I want to make the more responsible choice of them all. All would be 2015-2016 makes. My lasting choices are: Honda Crosstour Mini Cooper Clubman KIA Optima Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Chevy Impala My parents are also paying for my gas and insurance until I get out of college, so is there anything that would make insurance lower? Maybe a color or something?
  • Buying my first car and want to choose the right car I need something with a lot of room and thats safe? I've been looking at the honda crv, kia sorento, chevy traverse/equinox, acura mdx/rdx, nissan maxima and buick enclave. I really want something thats going to last atleast (6-8) years without having to replace the transmission or engine I want something very reliable and i'm willing to pay more for something that will last than having to replace major parts in a short time thanks for your help!
  • Taking my car into the shop for the first time (my first car and first time at a shop)? Recently acquired a 1999 Honda Accord for $1500 with only 160k. Runs great but my dad checked car and said oil is low and then proceeded to check the rest of the car and said all my fluids need to be replaced. What does that mean and what is the price for fixing this? I want to go to the shop with some sort of understanding of the prices so I know if I'm being ripped off or not.
