Which Honda civic gets better gas mileage 1995, or 2005?

Let me explain. One car is a 2 door honda civic-1995, DX. The engine is: 4-cyl 16V, 1.5 liter. 32 MPG and 102 HP.

The other Honda civic is: 4 door sedan, 4-cyl 1.7 liter. 30 MPG and 115 HP.

I went to the gas station today to fill up the tank and it was $33 (on the honda 2005). But when i used to fill the 1995 honda, it was $23! This was my first fill up w/the 2005 as I bought the car, and I didn't calculate the mileage, so I'm hoping for 250 miles, it's not $33 bucks each time! Anyone know?

*also gas prices were higher when I bought gas on the 1995, years ago.

I believe the car that will give you the best gas mileage is most likely the 1995 Honda Civic. With higher horsepower gas consumption will be hight because it would be more power to the engine.

I don't think the year matters. I think what really matters is how the car is maintained.

I would go with the 2005 because it has more power when taking off which will drink up gas because your pistons are turning out more RPM's and for more RPM's you need more gas. So, if the bigger engine is running lower RPM's when driving then it is taking less fuel to run plus a 2 MPG isn't that big of a difference.

The 1995. Has better MPG, but the 2005 has a bigger tank capacity.

It does not make sense to make a comparison without knowing the facts. Price per gallon before and now, and actual mileage per fill up.
