Which is a good car for first time buyer? UK?

Please help me. I'm totally confused.

I have recently passed my Manual Driving test in United Kingdom and i want to buy a car straight away so i don't loose grip of driving.

The day I passed my test I started looking for cars. Someone suggested and i saw Toyota Auris (2011 model), i took test drive but i was not very much impressed.

On the way back i visited mazda showroom and I took test drive of Vauxhall Astra 2014 model 1.6 Petrol and i was So impressed with that vehicle performance. But someone said they are not reliable cars as the mileage is also not good.

I again started searching for other cars then i searched Hyundai i30 1.6 diesel 2014 model and took test drive which went ok.

I can go and take test drive of Honda Civic 1.4 petrol 2012 model also but i'm bit concerned what to go for as whosoever i ask i get different reviews.

I need help, please suggest me something. I want to buy a good car so i can keep it for a while.

Please suggest me.

My advice is to not get something too fancy, insurance is going to be really high as you are (assuming) young and new to driving. Also, you aren t as experienced as you may thing and are still reasonably prone to common mistakes which could result in damage to your car, which you don't want if it's really nice.

Hi driving is like eating a sandwich some you like and some you might hate. Only problem is personal taste accounts for so much. So i might suggest something you really could not stand to be near so kid it is time for you to test and find the one that suits you sir.

You pick the best deal on the smallest car that fills your needs. Front wheel drive is safer in poor weather. One of the most reliable smaller cars is Peugeot 207.

Make a list if your needs and things you would like. Then a list of things if any you do not want.
Look at insurance costs and fuel consumption figures. As a new driver these matter.
As long as they are serviced most cars are reliable.
From your lists work out a list of suitable cars pick one you like.
Even a local dealer with a good reputation is important.
You do not want to be driving 50 miles to get a service done.

  • Which car is best for first time buyer? At the end of the month I will be getting my very own car and I've had a hard time deciding on what I really want between the two. •Jeep Wrangler (Sahara) Or •Honda Passport I know a Honda is good on MPG but when I test drove it, it was too big and when I test drove the wrangler I felt comfortable (always wanted one in HS) Comment what you think may be the best/worst out of the two, maybe some advice.
  • Taking my car into the shop for the first time (my first car and first time at a shop)? Recently acquired a 1999 Honda Accord for $1500 with only 160k. Runs great but my dad checked car and said oil is low and then proceeded to check the rest of the car and said all my fluids need to be replaced. What does that mean and what is the price for fixing this? I want to go to the shop with some sort of understanding of the prices so I know if I'm being ripped off or not.
  • 97 acura dc4 future buyer? I'm buying a 97 dc4 integra ls with a b20b and a b16 trans with 118k miles on the body and 90k on the motor for 2k from my cousin. It has brand new skunk2 suspension and brand new tires. I've drove it once just around the block and it was quick. I love Hondas even though I don't know much about them. I hope I'm not getting into anything I can't handle. Am I?
