Why could my 2000 Honda Civic show it's going to overheat I have coolant a new radiator a new radiator cap a new temp gauge switch and?

A new thermostat head gasket is fine could it just need to flushed and a new water pump and timing belt

You may have an air pocket in the cooling system.
Run the motor for 15 minutes with the radiator cap off. Watch for air bubbles coming out of the radiator neck. I've had plenty of bad new thermostats over the years so just because you replaced your thermostat you can't ignore the fact it still may need replacing. "Stant" makes a good thermostat.
If it still over heats did you check to see if there are two coolant temperature sensors? You may have replaced the temp gauge sensor instead of the sensor for the ECU which controls the radiator fan.

A good garage can check for products of combustion in the coolant. If they are present the head gasket is leaking.

  • Honda cb500 1994 temp. Gauge, and oil indicator does not work? Hey guys just got my first honda and of course it's great and i'm loving it, but i have a small issue with the temp gauge. It seems not to work, even when the fan turns on it does not seem to even get up from the bottom. So any ideas what and where i should try fixing? One more thing is that the oil indicator does not light up at the start, any ideas why? The lamp is ok I've checked it already

  • Why is coolant leaking from the ends of my top radiator hose on my 1999 honda civic? There isn't water leaking from anywhere else and it only seems to leak when the car has since cooled.
