Why do my break lights stay on even when my cars off?
Its a 98 Honda Civic
The switch is either bad or sticking.
Is the brake pedal unusally low? That would activate the brake light switch. Check the brake fluid reservoir. The switch is adjustable but an awful thing to get at under the dash.
First, their BRAKE lights. Second are you sure their the brake lights or tails? If they are brake then you need a new brake light switch.
They are BRAKE lights.

- Check engine light not going off on my 97 Honda Civic even after fixing problem? Cranking and starting my Civic made the check engine light come on and sputter and idle real bad. Figured it might be a bad fuel filter so I changed the thing and now it runs smoothly again but that check engine light is still on. Can there still a problem? Do i need to reset something to make the light go off?
- Why my car does not stay on? I have a 1997 Honda Accord LX 2.2l non VTec, the car starts fine but in an instant the car suddenly goes off, I have already replaced ignition control module, distributor seal and distributor cap. Before all that was replaced I took the car to auto zone for a check engine light diagnostic, it gave me speed sensor, MAP sensor and oxygen sensor.
