Why do some people think it's cool to modify their honda civic cheaply?
Why do some people think it's cool to modify their honda civic cheaply?
It has always been thus.
I had a friend in the day who owned a Chevrolet Vega.
He bought a four-barrel carburettor for that abomination, and big tires. It was even slower afterwards, of course.
The Civic is a cheap car to begin with, and so it is a natural for kids to play around with… And kids love the style of the moment, so if one buys a trash-can size exhaust tip, like lemmings off a cliff, they all do.
Magazines help by printing pictures of ridiculous rear wings with pretty girls… Works every time.
A honda civic is a good fall back car. If you don't really know what to get, a civic is most likely gonna be ok, not great but ok. There are many people who say they love cars and driving quickly but lack the passion to actually put their money where their mouth is and buy a sports car. When they end up buying civics they may feel that their car isn't fast enough so they look to mod the car. Obviously they don't want to drop a huge amount of money in (they couldn't buy a sports car, why would they drop a huge amount of money tuning?) so they'll just do some basic mods.
now this happens so much that a group of honda obsessed people started appearing and gave honda a cult-like following. Many people swear by honda performance and will eventually drop thousands of dollars into modding hondas that end up still not that fast.
my neighbors have a pair of stanced out hondas with a whole lot of performance parts on them and when I asked them if they race or even drive quickly in the cars they said no.
Because paying for overpriced import garbage doesn't make you cool.
Because kids will be kids, be honest dude, you did it too before you got old, right. I certainly did so before I grew up, LOL.
Because its all they can afford and THEY like it which is all that matters… You wouldnt have to worry about that though with your top of the range Lamborghini
- Why don't some people like a Honda car? It seems like some people dislike Honda. Why don't they? What's your opinion? I think it's a great brand. Hondas are well built and built to last in my opinion.
- Why do some people buy new cars to save gas? It seems like people complain about high gas prices so they go and buy these expensive gas saving cars. Usually a Honda or Toyota hybrid that's about $35,000 dollars. So what's the point of buying the car if you just wasted all that money. You could have just used that money for gas. Don't you think it's better to just buy a cheap $1,000 dollar Honda and save all that money for gas? Because buying the new car you pretty much threw all the money away.
- Why do people get mad over the fact that their cars require full synthetic oil? I work as a mechanic and found some people do not like the fact 2010 and up toyotas and Hondas and almost all 2014 cars and European cars require full synthetic oil. A majority of the anger comes towards toyotas and Hondas. Despite me explaining the increased intervals, they still get angered at the fact. Is it just me or does less time doing oil changes that save you more money in the long run end up coming out cheaper despite the increased price and why would they be angry saving money?
- What are some sites where people rent out their own personal cars? I'm thinking of one, but I forgot the name of it. You'd have a list of people renting their cars out in your area. You could rent anything from a 15yo Honda with a manual trans to newer Teslas and BMWs. Any similar rental services?
