Why does my A/C Compressor keep going bad?
In mid August, I changed the A/C compressor in my 2003 Honda Civic EX because it was making a horendous screeching noise every time I turned on the A/C and eventually, cold air stopped coming out. A couple of days ago, my car started making the same screeching noise when I turned on my A/C. Why does my A/C compressor keeping going bad? Is there a different part in my car the could be causing my compressor to fail?
Yes there's. When changing a compressor you also need to change the receiver drier, orifice tube… Flush the system.
put all new parts in add oil and vacuum system down then put in refrigerant.
Compressors come apart when they blow up and send debris throw-out the system. And if needs to be cleaned out before repair.
I made sure to do all of that but the compressor still went bad
I had the same problem with my AC compressor on my 1993 Chevy. MY problem was caused by buying CHEAP quality compressors. I purchased a new one from NAPA and it worked forever (until I sold the vehicle several years later).
- I have a Honda 1.4 sport 1999 reg and the revs keep going high but there's little power - any ideas? When i first start it its ok but after 15-20 minutes it starts to over rev and the power seems to drop. Any ideas on what could be causing it?
- I have a 2006 Honda Metropolitan, WHen cold it starts up but i have to keep revving it to keep it going? I have already replaced the battery, air filter, spark plug, did an oil change, got new gas, cleaned out the carb. Once it is warm i have no issues with it. It usually takes about 3 to 4 min of driving it to get it warm but once warm everything is fine with stopping and going.
- Why does my car keep shutting off? I have a 1994 Honda civic. Sometimes when I start my car up, right after I start it up it like dies/shuts off. I then start it again and it's fine, every time it will start on the 2nd time, but it doesn't always shut off on the first time. Does anyone know why it does this?
- Why does my car keep overheating? I have a 1993 Honda civic, it keeps overheating on me and every 20 min I need to put water/coolant. I just put a new radiator, thermostat, gasket and bottom radiator hose. Why is the radiator always empty and overheating?
