Will it cost more to insure a Jeep or regular car.like Honda?
I was thinking to trade in my Honda civic 2005 for a Jeep Liberty 2008. But if the insurance will be much higher.than I will not. Any guesses would be great or any way to find this out.
Depends.
If the 2008 is (not) financed and you pay cash, and (if) you now have only liability and keep the same, then odds are the cost will be about the same. Liability does (not) pay for any damages to (your) vehicle, only to (other) vehicles if found at fault in an accident.
But, if you finance the 2008, then would be required to have both collision and comprehensive to protect the lender till paid off, since these will pay to fix (your) vehicle, plus liability required by law.
Ask your insurance agent
The comprehensive portion of the insurance is always higher on a vehicle that is worth more money, and it is usually higher on a vehicle designed to go off road. Whether the liability is higher is debatable, so you should just contact your insurance company and get a quote. It doesn't cost anything and you'll unequivocally get the correct answer, accurate within a small margin. At least that's what a logical and intelligent person would do.
I'd be more worried about maintenance costs.
Have you tried calling your insurance agent to get a quote? He/she will be able to give you an actual quote based on your driving record, where you live, how much you drive, where you store your vehicle, etc.
The only people that can answer your question is a insurance company. We here do not sell insurance nor can give you insurance quotes.

- Does a 4 door honda civic si cost more on insurance than a honda civic lx/ex/? I'm looking to buy a used 2010 honda civic si. I've had 4 other cars insured in the past. My insurance is progressive. I've done quotes on several years of the honda civic 4 door and they seem to be in my favor however, the quote doesn't ask for the trim of the vehicle. When i put my vin in will my premium go up? Sorry i'm bad at asking question if that doesn't make sense
- Do Honda Civic Si Coupes cost more to insure? I thought they did since they're technically considered a performance vehicle, but there's a 2006 Honda Civic Si Coupe that I'm interested in purchasing, so I decided to get a quote from my current insurer (I have Geico). It was actually $2.50 cheaper than my current 6 month premium with my 2002 Saturn. I even entered the VIN for the Honda, so they know it's an si, do you think that seems accurate?
