Will my 2000 honda civic dx be reliable for a 8 hour car ride?

I'm planning to go to vegas with my wife. I live in the bay area and want to take it to vegas. Approx. It is 8-9 hout car ride. The car is a 2000 civic dx with 54k miles. Car does not leak, timing belt has been changed, most fluids are pretty new. Tires and break is good as well. Will the car take me there without it breaking down?

Yes. Just try and keep the engine at a lower rpm so you get better fuel mileage. Just monitor your dash for your engine temperature and oil pressure and you'll be fine.

Here let me pop the hood and inspect it. Then I will run it up in the air and inspect underneath as well.

To make it specific. Are these cars able to go on long drives? Due to its small engine.

I drive a beat up old 1988 BENZ 300e and I would drive it ANYWHERE! Yours is only 14 years old and a JAPANESE CAR at that with VERY LOW MILES! MILEAGE is everything for WEAR issues! Get FUEL EFFICIENT TIRES that save on gas and change All fluids even the BRAKE FLUID at the HONDA dealership before your trip[! USE MOBIL ONE or PENNZOIL for JAPANESE engines and DRIVE CONFIDENTLY! LIKE ANY CAR< tires are VERY important to safety and NO ONE can predict a low out from a flying piece of METAL from an old truck or from LARGE POTHOLES< etc! FUEL EFFICIENT TIRES are the BEST for ABSORBING bad shocks etc BRAKE FLUID must be POWER BLED to get rid of trapped in sediment that will compromise MASTER CYLINDERS< CALIPERS and HOSE and LINES as well! Some of the BEST RACE cars are FOUR CYLINDER cars! HAVE NO FEAR a=with a JAPANESE or EUROPEAN made FOUR CYLINDER ENGINE! They can EASILy handle long stretches of 100 MPH All DAY LONG! BE SURE that ONLY GENUINE HONDA coolant is in there! At 25k miles you will have ZERO engine wear yet! Do NOT use WAX BASED OILS like VALVOLINE! HONDA has it's OWN oil that carries the HONDA APPROVAL codes on it! AMSOIL makes a SUPERB oil for JAPANESE made engines that gives a 25 k mile oil change interval on it! BYE and GOOD LUCK!

Driven across the country in cars with 100,000+ more miles… If it starts, doesn't leak oil or coolant and doesn't overheat after 10 minutes, it should be fine.
