Will this car last four more years?

It's a 1998 honda civic with 146k miles. I don't drive THAT much but will be because I'm starting college so I expect to put another 100k on it in five years.

I've heard civic engines can last up to 300,000 and that's what I need this one to do. I'm going to religiously keep up maintenance and careful driving skills (rpms and what not)

The car is in good condition. I test drove it and he had it looked at and nothing was wrong with it only needs some preventative maintenance.

I heard only 250k. I owned an accord and after 200k it was going down fast. I don't know what happened because I sold it. If I were you I would hold out for lower mileage. Furthermore, it could have more miles than appear on the odometer if it had been disconnected. 146k is not that high but expecting it to go 100k might be pushing it.

Hi without even looking at it it is over 8 years old so already it is passed it's designed life.
so no it will not last years it might last till next year if you are lucky. Get a life will you cars now have a very short life expectancy.

Hondas can go 250+. It's just a matter of taking care of the car. 146 is pretty low mileage. So yeah it definitely will run for another 4. I have 190 on my car and it's still running really strong. And my friends 98 Toyota has 250 and still running strong. Take care of your vehicles and it will take care of you. Bottom line.
