Would my car make it across the country twice?
I have a 2016 Honda Civic with 10k Miles on it. The month of April (1-2) I'm going from ny-nj. Then April 3-6 from ny to dc. Then from April 15-17 ny to Chicago. Will my car make it or should I not drive that much in one month?
A civic with less than 100K miles is a new car.
Sure it'll make it. It's a car, not a horse. Just check the fluid levels first, and not driving too fast will help.
That is a decent car, and as long as you have kept up with periodic maintenance, the car should easily make it across the country twice, and then some.
10k is damned near brand new. I put 60k on my car in 2 years. Just make sure your fluid levels are good, especially your coolant ratio, and start off with new oil and you shouldn't have any problems. I had a car that I maintained throughout its life that had over 200k on it and I still took it cross country without any worries.
The car can go that far. The driver might have issues. A long time to be just sitting staring at the bumper in front of you.
Really you are only going to drive to and from these locations and absolutely no other driving? Doubtful Add a few miles for things like sleeping and exploring each destination.
NO ONE can guess if your car has been normally maintained, needs an Oil change or maybe new tires. It would be a good idea to have at least a visual inspection by a good mechanic. Checking things like fluid levels and so on.
You have a relatively new car and this distance is not an issue for the car. NO ONE CAN GUESS if YOU can drive for that amount of time. For ONE driver plan on about 300-500 miles per day driving distance. Some can drive further than others each day.
NO ONE but you knows how long you can drive for each day. Suggest you do what you can to avoid driving at rush hours. A good time to take your meal breaks.
Yes your car will make it but will you. You are driving a really long way, you will need a break
It will make it without any issues. But don't forget your cell phone just in case.
I drove a 76 Datsun B210 across the country twice in three months time and it was 4 years old at the time. No cell phone, twin turbo air conditioning, rand mcnally premium navigation system, am/fm radio.
You could continuously drive that car for a year stopping only for gas and an oil change and probably still not have a problem. GO for it! Have a good time. Be careful April is almost here and we're still having bad weather (not good for driving) Good Luck!
- Will my car make it cross country? Can anyone who knows about cars tell me if this is a bad idea? I want to drive to colorado to stay for a few weeks and don't want to fly it will be about.a 1300 mile journey I have a 2002 Honda oddessey tht has 242k miles on it but its been babied its whole life and has a few new parts including a new transmission its seems to drive fine I was just wondering if that seems like a stupid or risky idea to drive it that far
- Honda Odssey seems more comfortable than Town Country, is this true? I was comparing these two vehicles online, and the Odyssey seems to be a better fit. In comfort, in reliablity, quality… Etc. Or am I wrong? What do you think? I know times have passed where both of these vehicles have improved, but… I need all the help i can get!
- Honda Shadow Spirit 750 Across Country, Can it make it? I'm planning on taking my Honda Shadow 750 across the US for about a month, maybe even more. Making stops, camping, all that stuff. I changed my sprocket to a 38t and I just wanted to make sure it can make it that length of time and distance without problems. It has about 18,000 miles on it and I will be getting it detailed before the trip. Any advice would be great.
