Would you buy a used 2010 Honda Civic sedan with 107k miles on it?
It appears to be in great condition… Clean CarFax, only one owner (he leased it and then he bought it afterwards). Has 107,000 miles on it, and he's asking $8500. Is it worth it?
Added (1). He said that they were all highway miles driving to and from work mainly
I have a 2001 Audi TT with 94,000 miles and I just completed a 1,900 mile journey without any issues. I have owned this car since one year old. I have no problems to trust the engineering to keep the car for 100,000 more miles. I do not expect the car to be without issues since each second the motor runs, each mile the car covers, means wear and use. I have a daughter with two Honda products with over 150,000 miles and these cars have been nothing but reliable and a pleasure to won and drive. The standard answer as to any used vehicle is for an independent mechanic to check the car for codes, mechanical condition and to certify it has been properly maintained. If that is OK I have no doubt this vehicle will easily last another 200,000 miles. With proper car, service and repairs, of course. The photo is of a 1931 Cadillac that is extremely valuable and in perfect shape due to care and servicing. The issue, of course, is to have one person dedicated to the car as to preservation. Most of us yearn for the latest and use cars for status. Good luck with the purchase. Bye.
I don't know how reasonable the price is. Have you looked?
You should try to pay no more than private party value.
Find out if it has a timing belt or chain.
if it has a belt then it needs to be replaced around 105,000
You can price cars at kbb.com. It says that buying a 2010 Honda Civic DX Sedan with no extra features in very good condition from a private owner should cost:
$8,508 if it has 57,500 miles, or
$6,098 if it has 107,000 miles.
Now, this one might not be a DX, so that might affect the price. But 107,000 miles seem like a lot for a $8,500 car. I wouldn't buy it. KBB can also find you several different listings for Honda Civics in your area, if that's what you want to get.
Honda yes they go and go.
- What would you do if a lady around 30-37 told you that you were useless and would never amount to anything? She's a well dressed white lady with a brand new Honda SUV and she has a daughter that looks about 12 that is also well dressed and the girl is being rude and both are being very rude to the guy at the counter at Subway. Would it be wrong to curse out the old witch who tried to start a fight and cursed out the subway worker and you?
- I have a 1998 Honda CRV with 240 K miles. Needs $1200 of repair to pass inspection. Should i fix or buy a newer used Honda civic? Mike? I'm the original owner and have done a good job with oil changes etc. However, it needs 2 front control arms with ball joints and rear struts to pass inspection. I've also gone past my mileage on a second timing belt (first one done at 90K miles). Car body exterior and interior is in pretty good shape. Inside looks brand new. But repair cost at 1200 + timing belt ~500 =~1700 in repars. Is it time for a newer used auto.
- Would you buy a used Honda Civic that had no maintenance done? Has 100,000 miles. Only things done were synthetic oil/filter change and air and cabin filters. Spark plugs, ATF, brake fluid, etc never done. Has timing chain. Would you still buy it or would it have problems due to no maintenance being done?
- Used 2012 Honda Civic Coupe with 60,000 miles. Is it ok to buy? I'm looking at a Certified Pre-owned Honda Civic Coupe. It's 2012 with 60k miles on it and Carfax said it averaged 22k miles per year. No accidents reported and only one owner. The price is good is $14,000 right now and I'll probably negotiate it down. The main question: Is 60k too much on a 2.5 year old vehicle? Even if it's CPO?
