Honda CR-V: a Compact but Powerful Crossover

The Honda CR-V belongs to the class of compact SUVs. In other words, this is simply a crossover with its ambiguous name CR-V meaning something like “Comfortable Runabout Vehicle” or, maybe, “Compact Recreational Vehicle”. No one knows for sure what this abbreviation really stands for.

Despite its confusing name, the Honda CR-V has everything to meet even the naughtiest customer’s needs. All CR-Vs are fitted with powerful 2.0 L or 2.4 L engines depending on the region of the world. The North American 4th-generation version comes equipped with a 2.4 L i-VTEC engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, and Real-Time AWD featuring intelligent control system. The CR-V equipped with CVT transmission is available on the Japanese market. The Indian variant, along with others, has a six-speed manual gearbox for drivers who prefer manual control.

All models feature all possible modern conveniences including leather seats, 2-zone automatic climate control, a set of control systems (Vehicle Stability Assist, Brake Assist and so on), paddle shifters, etc.
