This is really bad. They will eat wires and any insulation type material. If it is in a garage make sure there are no pet food bags anywhere. Try trapping them. If you poison they will die maybe in your car hidden and stink it up. A cat may help.

Works like a charm! Just a trick from those that store their vintage models over the winter to keep mice out.
