Can't get car in reverse?
My car is a Honda CRV 2006 Diesel with manual gear box.
suddenly I can't push the gear stick into reverse. I have tried pumping the clutch and driving in all other gears and so on, but there's like a wall blocking the stick from going into reverse position. Does anyone know what the problem is?
Additional info: the clutch has been a problem for some days, smelling burnt rubber whenever I have been using it a lot.

I don't know why that happens.
Buy you must go get it checked out pronto.
You can call up a pep boys and speak with them, if you want to get a better idea as to what could possibly be wrong.
But that's a problem that needs to b addressed. How do you drive around not being able to reverse? How do you park?
If it will go into the forward gears but not reverse then it's a problem inside the transmission.
Get the hydraulic clutch repaired before you need a new clutch and gearbox!
It is probably the clutch dragging. There's no synchromesh on reverse gear. The syncro is helping the engagement of forward gears but not reverse. New clutch needed.
- Why does my car squeal in reverse? I'm looking at a 1999 honda civic lx with 190000 miles for $2100. It's a five speed and all in all its in pretty good shape. The only issues were when I was driving it, i couldn't hit the gas hard under 3000rpm, but after I got to 3000rpm I could punch it and it was fine. That's not what worried me. When I backed up i heard a very loud squealing. The guy selling it told me he just had the brakes done. What could it be?
