Does a 99 Honda CR-V have and up and downstream oxygen sensors?
My check engine light came on, took it in to O'Reily's, and they say I need a new O2 sensor. They can't tell me if it is up or downstream though so I'm wondering if the 99 CR-V only has one.
The 99 CR-V 2.0L engine has two O2 sensor: The upstream O2 is located on the exhaust manifold (Before the CAT) and the downstream is located after the CAT. Don't know you'll need it or not but this is the wiring diagram for it:
@James - Is the O2 sensor on the engine block the up or downstream? Bonus questions: I have heard some O2 sensors require a special tool (some kind of socket) to remove and replace, does the CR-V require this special tool?
Yes nearly all semi newer cars have at least two one on the engine block and one near the catalytic. 90% it is the one on the engine block just below the exhaust manifold.
What James said. Can go back test it again and then ask which one and/or the code.

I was told by a cop that it was illegally sold to me If this is the case. No one seems to know exactly what to do or even want to Deal with it.
