Honda CR-V (2016) engine will not turn on, car stalled?
Please help! I'm a girl and this is my first car and I know NOTHING about automobiles that s technical.
This is a 2016 CR-V. It was recently transported across the country from California to Indiana. When the transport company dropped it off, I was able to drive it into a driveway just fine. That was a day or two ago. Today was the first day I needed to drive it and I couldn t get it to start.
Now I see some lights are on (or flickering if I try to turn on the car) and here is a picture of that below.
If anyone can help me, I d be really appreciative!

So many things… When you turn the key, does it try to start? Or does it just click? If it just clicks, it is likely a dead battery. If you can hear the engine try to start then there are too many options over the internet. If you a have AAA or some roadside service with your insurance you should get them to help you get it to a mechanic.
Is the car still under warranty? Call a Honda dealer and get it towed. Could be just a weak battery.
Sounds like a dead battery or corroded battery terminals. See if you can find someone to help you jump start it. (MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW TO DO IT) & drive it t oa battery shop.
Buy a new battery
If you have roadside assistance, then use it. Otherwise you will need a tech to come out. Sounds like the battery is flat due to lack of use/transportation.
The first thing to do is try to jump start it. If you can't get to the battery, the you can try using two sets of jumper cables. Be careful with this and do NOT let the two lines touch. How long has it been sitting, if only a few days, the battery should not be dead on that new of a vehicle. I mean a lot of people do not drive their car for month or more and it starts.
Or call a towing service and ask if they have jump starter, or usually they have long cables. Or take the battery out and take it to an auto parts store for a free test.
Turn the key to the accessory position and jiggle the steering wheel to the left and right to make sure it ignition lock is moving. Then jiggle the gear shift, gently move it out of park a few times, then move it back to park and make sure it seems to click into place when moving it to PARK.
You need a jump
Might be as simple as a low or defect battery. You'll have to have some body with some auto knowledge take a peek at it. Or by chance, did you leave something turned on, light etc for a day or two?
Put some gas in it.
- 2016 MINI Cooper Hardtop 4 Door or 2016 Honda Fit for first car? I love cute and comfy. Mostly just to get to and from work at Disney, but I'm also a big traveler so would love something comfy and cozy that sort of resembles my personality (I know- I'm cheesy) I know nothing about cars and this will be my first! I'm 19 and have waited to get my license for way too long so I'm working on it in Driving 101 and should take the test next month!
- Should I get a 2016 Honda CR-V EX AWD or a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek 2.1i Limited? I'm trying to decide between the two. They are both the same price at my dealers. I'm probably going to end up moving to Colorado but I don't think I will go off road at all. Which of these is the better car? Which do you think will last longer?
- Car was extremely low on gas and I stalled while driving slow? Car was extremely low on gas and I stalled while driving slow. I immediately turned off the car. After 3 seconds I turned the switch and the car started and I drove 1 mile to the nearest gas station. My question is was this stall area from low gas? The car didn't do it again drives great. Its a Honda crv 1998 automatic.
- Which car is better, the 2016 Honda Civic EX-T or the 2016 Mazda 6 i sport? I'm getting a new car next month, and my choices have been cut down to these two cars. I'm having difficulty deciding. Which one is better? Please list spec differences (exterior and interior) as well as the reasoning behind your decision.
