Is the fan belt still there?

No your alternator problems have nothing to do with your brakes.

If the alternator is dead then it won't charge the battery.
You need new brakes as well.

Your brakes work on a hydraulic system, but there are electronics in the anti-lock brake system.

There are also power brake systems which may have both electric and/or hydraulic components. If this isn't working properly then it would be much harder to press the brake pedal and the system might feel spongy or less responsive.

Bottom line is that I would get the alternator fixed, make sure the battery is fully charged, then check to see if the problems with the brakes continue or if they go away. It could be related or it could be a separate problem.

No relation

The alternator has nothing to do with the brakes.
Check the fusible link for the alternator in the engine compartment fuse box. The fusible links are the larger fuses.
Go to an auto parts store to have the battery and charging system tested. It's a free service.

No. Get the charging system checked. Get the brakes bled.
