Based on the 2006 Mazda 3 2.0 5 speed manuals performance and handling abilities, which cars could it outrun on a highway or street chase to death?

I'm in the market for a new car and I was looking between 2013 Toyota corolla which is just boring and doesn't have as much features compared to Honda, or mazda. The Mazda 3 is at a good price 1000 dollars cheaper then the Toyota. So my question is, is Mazda reliable for that generation, or should I stick with a very well known reliable car maker?

- In high speed curves and straightaways can my car keep up with either of the cars? If i got into a road rage situtation with a driver in one of these cars, could my car keep up with these vehicles or it would be left in the dust? My car is an 03 Honda Element 4 spd automatic and I'm comparing the a 98 Altima auto and a 2006 Mazda 3i 5 speed.
