Is the mazda 3 a very slow car when it comes to performance?
I'm NOT talking about the mazdaspeed 3, i mean the regular 3. I have a 2006 mazda 3 i touring sedan with a 5 speed manual.
my question is compared to other 4 cylinder vehicles is it slow?
for example if a 1998 nissan altima gxe, honda crv and a 2007 camry le and a 2008 honda accord where on the track, how would a 2006 mazda 3i do against these other 4 cylinder vehicles that are larger. Could it beat any of these on the track? For example, on a dig, quarter mile, handling, on a roll and straightline acceleration?
My daughter got a 2015 Mazda 3 GT with the 2.0 engine and the automatic with manual shifting. She got satisfactory but not spectacular performance from it. A couple months ago her dealer told her that if she kicked in $3000 they wold put her into a 2017 Mazda 3 GT with the 2.5 engine and keep the payment the same. She has already put nearly 50,000 miles on the 2015.
It does not a sound like much more power but remember the power needed to operate the car stays the same so all the extra power goes to the wheels. Now she gets the same sort of performance people got from 1960's muscle cars. Now she says she has good Zoom-Zoom.
In your case, I think the 3 may have had a 2.3L engine. If it does have that one, your car is quite respectable on the track.
You can't beat anybody, Mark. But you did a pretty good job of making your troll question seem legitimate.
When compared to it's primary competition (Civic, Corolla, Focus, Elantra, Sentra etc.) the 2.0L model is on the slow side and the 2.3L is a bit quicker. It's a car that's meant to get you from point A to point B. It's not meant to be a performance car, fuel economy, reliability, and cost of ownership were primary design factors, speed was not. The odds of seeing a CRV, a 20 year old Altima, or Camry on the track are so minuscule that it's not worth addressing.
- Why is my car so loud and slow? I have a 96 Honda odyssey its a pretty old car but its my first car so I wanna get at least another year or 2 out of it the engine is fine but the car is so loud and when I go 35 down a road it feels like I'm going 20mph, I got the car like that as it was a gift so I could have my own car but I just wanna know is it worth even trying to get the loud noise fixed an maybe make the car go alittle faster? Or should I just go lease a newer car?
- Mazda reliability? Particularly 2013 mazda 3? I'm in the market for a new car and I was looking between 2013 Toyota corolla which is just boring and doesn't have as much features compared to Honda, or mazda. The Mazda 3 is at a good price 1000 dollars cheaper then the Toyota. So my question is, is Mazda reliable for that generation, or should I stick with a very well known reliable car maker?
- Car was extremely low on gas and I stalled while driving slow? Car was extremely low on gas and I stalled while driving slow. I immediately turned off the car. After 3 seconds I turned the switch and the car started and I drove 1 mile to the nearest gas station. My question is was this stall area from low gas? The car didn't do it again drives great. Its a Honda crv 1998 automatic.
- Why is my car moving very slow on uphill? Honda civic 1.4 2000 manual problem, car is terribly slow on uphill only. I must stop and allow others to overtake as a result of this problem. I have taken to many garage and their predictions were contradicted. However no one told me exactly what is the cause.
