Moving to LA for 3.5 months. Would I need to get car smog checked there?
I heard LA has a high emission standards and I'm moving there for 3.5 months for school. I'm bringing my car there and I'm wondering do I need to get my vehicle checked for emissions? I have a 2014 Honda CR-V. There's not point in bringing my car there if I can't even drive it there.
You'll need to get a smog check if and only if you have a CA license plate and are due for a check
The whole of CA has high emission standards; it's State wide.
If you have a current license plate and that is where you live don't change the plate and be sure it is current! Then you don't have to worry about the CA. Lunatics.
- I let my car sit for 3 months and the battery died. I tried to jump it but it would start? I Tried jumping my car by connecting the jumper cable plugs to it for like 1 min and few seconds… Should I keep the jumper cables in longer or do I just need to buy a new battery. I drive a honda civc 2008. *Wouldn't
- Went to get a smog check and i failed because apparently my carbon levels were to high. Does anyone know how i can fix this? They tried to charge me an extra $70 on top of what i had already paid to have them tell me what's wrong with it "diagnostic". If it matters, its a honda civic 90
- My air bag light was on for a week but has disappread since, should I still get it checked out? I own a 09 honda civic and the air bag light stayed on (while I drove) for about a week and then suddenly no longer stays on when I'm driving. It only pops up when I'm starting the car. Is this a problem that should be addressed immediately? And why did it disappear all of a sudden?
- I'm moving to New York City but I have a year left on my car lease. Is there any way out? I have a Honda Civic leased through Honda Financial Services and there are 11 months left on my lease. HFS apparently does not allow Lease Swapping (a common solution for this type of problem). It looks like I will have to pay the remaining monthly payments I owe to Honda one way or another… Is there any alternative to this? I have no need for a car in NYC and I'm in California now. The car is in pristine condition and pacing about 6 or 7k under mileage. Anyone know of a way out?
