My 1997 Honda CR-V won't start. It clicks rapidly when I turn the ignition?

I know it could be a bad battery, but what else could be causing this? Maybe a bad starter or altinator?

If it is making noise, that wouldn't likely be the battery. It is more likely the starter or solenoid in that order.

If you're living in the States: Any of your local Auto Zone or Advance auto part store will be happy to check your CR-V charging system for free. Alternator or the battery.

I'd check first for a thin layer of corrosion between the battery terminals and the cables connected to them. Remove the cables. Scrape both the terminals and the inside of the connectors so you see shiny metal and then put it back together. Tighten firmly but don't over tighten.
