What impact does a rebuilt transmission and a new catalytic coverter have on car resale value?

I have a 2000 Honda CRV with 195,000 miles that is in impeccable condition mechanically and cosmetically, with these recent repairs how much could i hike up the price for if i really wanted to sell it

You wouldn't exactly be able to hike up the price. A car 17 years old and 195,000 miles won't rise in value. Instead, sell it according to the prices of other 2000 Honda CRVs. You can find those on craigslist or autotrader. Also, try to find a car with similar mileage to base your price off.

Edit: I'm an experienced car seller.

Realistically, they bring the price closer to "in okay shape" than it would have been before. A well kept car can go "forever" on the same engine, transmission, and catalytic.

Not much, you can probably add up to $400 more with those repairs. But the almost 200K on the odometer doesn't help much.

None. Maintenance is part of the cost of ownership. A person buying the car would expect it to have a functioning transmission and catalytic converter.

AutoTrader has them for around $3,000. Anywhere from $2,000 - $4,000 I don't know about raising the price. You are just giving a person reason to hope to buy a car with 200,000 miles on it. You can probably ask for a little more because those are two valuable repairs. Anybody who would buy the car is a poor college kid or dirtbag; do you need to make their life more miserable than it already is by adding $1,000 to the price? Just pick a solid number.

You can search nationwide on Autotrader.com.

  • Value of 2002 Honda S2000 - Rebuilt title? How much do you all think a 2002 S2000 with 49000 miles on it and a rebuilt title should sell for? Besides the rebuilt part, it is in excellent shape.
  • On average, how much does the value of a car model decrease by each passing year? Take a honda cr-z for example, it costs 20k now. In- say- 6 years, approximately how much will it cost?
  • Hyundai Low resale value? Why do Hyundai/Kia have such low resale value? They have nice warranties from what I can see and the reliability has gotten a whole lot better compared to 10 or so years ago. (A little better under Toyota and Honda better) I can find a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS in my area for less than $9,000! Do people still think these cars are poorly made still?
  • Does the fuel tank size have any impact on fuel economy between vehicles? For example the new Honda Accords have a 56 Litre tank while the CRV has a 53 L and the Rogue a 55 L. Now the 2 latters are compact crossovers and are arguably bigger in size than the Accord, so would that mean they are using up more gas? Would that mean its better to buy the Accord if we were going based on just gas mileage?
