Will the dealership test drive the car after changing the brake fluids?
I have a 2015 Honda CR-V. I'm taking my car to the dealership to get my car service. I know I should asked but have anyone had any issues with their car after getting the brake fluid change and will the dealership test drive the car to make sure the brakes is working okay?
Any mechanic had better test drive a vehicle after working on the brakes. Personally I wouldn't even be changing the brake fluid on a 3 year old car.
If you want to do some preventive maintenance make sure to change the transmission ATF every 60,000 miles.
They will know just by taking it out of the shop.
They should. We always road test the car after repairs are done to make sure everything is O.K
Yes. Any time the brakes are serviced or repaired, the car SHOULD be driven to make sure that everything is working properly. That's part of a routine safety check.
They should check the brakes and put it back on the lift to look for leaks.
You are tight to change the fluid as it takes in water and becomes less effective. The water also leads to corrosion in the brakes.
The key to a long lasting reliable car is good maintenance.
Consider having some one else do the job and I don't mean some chain francize!
They will know before they take the car off the rack if the brakes are working. Just backing it off the ramp and parking it outside the building will tell if the brakes are good.
Honestly if the car has very many miles on it more then likely it needs pads and/or shoes any way. We all have different driving styles, the brakes on my wife's car are lucky to last one year. By the time the pads and shoes are changed, the brakes bled the car has gotten the brake fluid changed. My car gets the brakes done every two years, not because they are worn out but because I want new brakes just because. My Dad could get five years out of a brake job. So maybe you need a complete brake job and not just a fluid change.
You can test the brakes in the first yard of travel. They wouldn't normally test drive as they have confidence in their abilities.
Most of the time the mechanics will test drive the car as part of the repair and maybe see if there's any additional issues that may become a problem!

They gave me a slip of paper that says 30 day temporary marker receipt and a paper tag. I paid for the tax and tag so I assume they are handling this. But do I need to pay them a visit to pick up my tag? How does this work. It wasn't explained well. Any advice is appreciated. I haven't calle them yet because I want to be a bit more educated so I don't sound stupid when I call.
