Do car dealerships reuse used parts like windshields?
HI I'm planning to get my windshield replaced by a Honda dealership and it's gonna cost around $200. I was wondering if they were going to install a used windshield because I've heard of higher prices for installing windshields. Is it because my car is old? I drive a 2001 Honda Prelude base model.
You ask them if they use used parts.
$200 is quite reasonable for new glass.
Why are you going to the dealer for this? Ever hear of auto GLASS facilities? No, they will not put a used windshield in the car.
Just ask them, they'll tell you.

- I'd like to buy a used Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V or Hyundai Tucson, Am I better off wit 4wd/Awd or 2wd/Fwd? I live in the suburbs of Chicago and want a small SUV because it sits up high. But the question is am I better off getting an AWD/4WD or a FWD/2WD model? I'm tempted on getting a FWD model to save on gas, insurance and slap on some snow tires in the winter. But I've heard that AWD models hold their value better though.
