Does the honda 600rr have its transmission in its engine?

I bought a used honda 600 and it has a transmission problem. I went to a repair shop and he said they can't fix it because they have to completely disassemble the engine and that is a mess. Is it true and did he just say that because he doesn't want to do it?

The engine and transmission share a split lower case. He told you the truth. If you want to save a few bux, remove the engine and take that to the shop for repair.

Yes, the bottom end of the engine and the transmission are in the same case, sharing the same oil.
The nature of the repair will determine how far apart it has to come.

Maybe he doesn't want to. Maybe he can't. Maybe he doesn't want to say how much it will cost.
If you bought it dead like this, he probably doesn't want to deal with whatever the last guy did / didn't do.
