2009 Honda Fit Engine Replacement?
I'm looking into buying a used clean title 2009 Honda Fit with 180,000 miles for $6000.
My plan is to purchase the vehicle and run it until the engine dies. Then I plan to replace the engine with another engine. No fancy aftermarket stuff, just the same stock engine
My question(s) is.
How feasible is this plan?
How much would it cost to perform the swap?
Even a Honda will require more repairs than just the engine, what about the suspension, brakes, tires, shocks etc?
At the end of the day, new engine or not you will still have a 6 year old car that you will potentially spend more money on than it is worth.
Too many miles, no warranty you are assuming a large amount of risk if you buy this car.
If you took the $6K plus what a new engine would cost and buy something newer, in the long run you would be ahead
After another 100,000 miles, replacement should be cheap. Used engines in 5-10 years should be under a grand plus install.
I've run over 275,000 miles on similar engines without issues… As long as you keep up on maintenance.
- Will running my headpipe mess up the engine on my 2009 Honda CBR600RR? I've seen lots of people say it's bad and others say that it won't bother the engine at all. So can someone please give me an answer. I've removed my stock exhaust and left just the headers on my bike. It seems to run normal, it's quite a bit louder though. This is not a permanent thing, just something I thought about doing for a couple months until I can get a full exhaust kit.
- Will this engine fit into my 97 accord with the same engine mounts as a stock one? http://www.ebay.com/...nda-accord will this h22 fit into my 97 accord without modifying any engine mounts
- Which is better, a 2009 Honda Fit or a 2011 Chevy Aveo? The Honda Fit is priced at $10,490 and has 67,963 miles. The Chevrolet Aveo is priced at $11,490 and has 38,503 miles. The Aveo is also red which I'm worried about the paint fading. I've heard Honda's are really reliable cars but this one has a bit more miles on it, I'm not too familiar with Chevy's at all but I just need to know which is a better choice or if both of them are overpriced.
- Is Honda fit 2009 a computerized car? - 1 I just read this site and it says that modern cars have more advanced computers than the Apollo space shuttle that guided the astronauts to the moon way back in 1960's…
