208 honda fit cranks no start?
The car cranks over but doesn't start spray carb cleaner in air intake car starts but dies when it runs out fo that fuel would that be a problem with fuel pump
Most likely the fuel pump (BUT VERIFY BEFORE CHANGING) - a filter would have been giving you fits at high speed or during heavy acceleration long before idle failure.
Possibly. Do we have fuel in tank? Does pump run when ignition is on? Is fuel filter ok?
run a diagnosis check to see fuel pressure etc.
How strong the engine turn over (Cranking)? Honda Fit has a odd size battery and seems to me it's too small and the saga has happened since day 1 of the introducing the Fit to North America market: Car will not start. Check all of the fuses first and the main relays (2): Yes 2 main relays in the under hood fuse/relay box. Under hood fuse/relay box: Fuse # 46 (15A). Under dash fuse/relay box: Fuse # 2 (15A).
Try to hook up the Fit with an additional power source like a booster/ charger or with another vehicle and see if it start. If it does: Have the battery check out, you may as well try to replace it with a much stronger battery (Heavy duty)
The Fit's lights may showing that they're all lit up strong but when the starter load kicks in and cranking, there's not much current left strong enough for other components operation to make the car start/running.
If that is not the case then have the fuel pressures check out: pressure should be between 47-54 Psi. If it's not within spec's then the fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump is at fault.
Go straight to the fuel pump and with the KOEO (Key On, Engine Off) you should have power at the Yellow/Green stripe wire (Terminal #5 at the fuel pump connector)
Edit: It's sound strange, isn't it? Do you know how many Fits we jump started during the last cold front hit Texas or replacing the battery? The alternator was charging. Just need a stronger battery.
