Can a 16.L engine fit into a 1998 Honda Civic LX? (before doing engine swap)?
I had an blown motor on my 1998 Honda Civic LX, I have new spark plugs, distributor cap and some other items, however, since the old spark plugs happened to be melted as well, I have no option other to do a engine swap. I've been doing some research, and it seems like I only have the 1.6L engine as a option.
By the way, the blown motor is a D16Y8, and is automatic.
Finding another used D engine should be easy; D engines are not your only option though. Tuners ditch their D engines for B engines when they are modifying their Civics for performance.
- What's the best engine (to add horse power and torque) that i can swap into my 1999 Honda Prelude? Currently i have an H22A but i heard that the k series or even the f series are better? Is this true or should i just stick with my H22A?
- I'm thinking about doing an engine swap. B series vtech or K series vtech? I have a 2000 honda ek coupe with a d series vtech, but I'm looking to upgrade the power without the use of forced induction. My best bet is an engine swap but I'm still deciding between a b20 vtech or a k20 vtech. Which one would give me more power and what parts will I need?
