Can I swap stereos between a '98 Honda Accord and an '01 Ford Focus?
I have a stereo for a 1998 Honda accord that I no longer use. Would it fit in a 2001 ford focus that has no stereo? A fit guide says the Honda takes a Corporate Panel size, and the Ford takes a Corporate Double Din. Both have an 8" depth. Is the stereo completely incompatible; or will the issue be merely cosmetic?
It could be installed and made to work but a new fascia should be created for it.
- Why do used Hondas and Toyotas have double the mileage of GM, Ford & Chrysler? Shopping for used car and noticed Hondas and Toyotas typically have 200k or more miles while Big 3 only have 100k for the same price.
- What's the best engine (to add horse power and torque) that i can swap into my 1999 Honda Prelude? Currently i have an H22A but i heard that the k series or even the f series are better? Is this true or should i just stick with my H22A?
- What engines can I directly swap my D16y8 Honda motor for? It has to be more powerful and easy to swap? I have a civic with a d16y8 and its served me well but what motor could I easily swap in? I want to use the same gearbox but I don't mind swaping the ECU. The easier the swap and the more HP the better. Would prefer to use the stock manifold and intake etc.
- Why do older Hondas rarely have factory stereos? Whenever I see Hondas for sale online (mostly pre 2000 Accords and Civics), about 75% of them have aftermarket stereos. I thought Honda was well-known for having decent factory stereos, so I don't understand why the stereos are replaced. Is it for parts? Are the stereos bad after all?
