Did i over rev my engine?
Its a 2012 honda fit, i was trying to get on the freeway from a dead stop, with no shoulder in about 30 feet, so i had to use the limited shoulder to get speed up, so i put my car in "sport" mode, and floored it from a dead stop, i watched the rpm guage go from a little under 1, to 5 in a few secs, but then i was at 40 with no one behind me so i let off the gas a little but the car was still at about 5,500 rpms, then i saw a car switch from the middle to slow lane going the speed limit so i needed to go faster so i gave it about 3/4 throttle and the rpm guage went like 500 rpms into the red zone, luckly i saw and let off the gas, so it was only there for about a second. Did this damage it? There are no strange noises or anything
There could very well be damage but probably not too much. I'm no mechanic but it doesn't really sound like anything that would be too bad. Don't do it too often and your transmission should be fine. At least you weren't neutral dropping it.
The strange noise you would hear if there was a problem will be a "BANG, WHAM, SCREECH, WHOMP, WANG, DING, DING, DING. AND THEN no noise. Car is dead.
But the car is still running, so you got off THIS TIME.

- My honda moped 50cc won't idle or start when i don't rev it? The owner told me the fuel line is blocked or something. Can anyone help me please? I'd like to do it manually because i don't want to bring it to the shop. Might cost alot.
- Why does my car engine rev up and down? It revs up and down all the way up to 3x rpm and down? Also when i step on the gas pedal it revs up all the way to the top 8x rpm and stays right there even when i let go of the gas pedal. Please anyone who can tell me why this happens? This is a 1995 honda civic by the way
- Honda civic del sol won't rev past 4k on highway? I put a brand new distributor on my del sol. It solved the jumping rpm neddle and temp guage. But it still will not go over 4k rpm on highway. It just has no power after that. @ 4k, my engine isn't even screaming or trying to rev higher, it just sits there. So my car tops out @ 85 to 90 mph. I used to could hit 115 with no peoblem. Any suggestions?
