Is a 2009 Honda Fit too good for a first car?

I'm interested in getting a 2009 Honda Fit for my first car which in average is around $7,000. Is that too much for a first car?

It is a lot by my standards, but it depends on your financial situation.

If you can afford it, it is pretty good car. It will give a good run for the money, and last for you long time.

I see for once we have some one who has brought a car less than 8 years old.
soundalike it might not be such a bad investment. As long as it has not passed the 100k miles onto car as well. That too would be a bad mistake.

I'd consider it being a bit pricey for its age. If you need a Honda, consider looking at some older Civics. If you don't mind changing brands, the Toyota iQ is a small and cheap car.

If you like the car and can afford it. Honda are good cars I've had 4 accords all were brilliant

If this price is ok for you, then yes - it's a really good choice for the first car. The Honda Fit was the 2009 US News Best Subcompact Car for the Money because it had excellent reviews and long-term ownership costs. The Fit has a solid list of standard features, including air conditioning, power windows and door locks and a stereo with an auxiliary input jack. It also comes with anti-lock brakes and electronic brake-force distribution. The Fit also has good fuel economy ratings, especially when you consider that it can hold as much cargo as some compact SUVs. With a peppy fun-to-drive character, an astonishing amount of interior space, and a high-quality feel throughout, it's close to the perfect affordable small car.

That is fine, you should get great gas milage too

Its O.K. Personally I prefer the older VW diesel non turbo 4 door… With 1600cc engine. I got 60MPG city driving with those. Honda I get 32MPG highway at best… With a 1500cc engine and standard transmission. And I can't tow anything and roof racks are hard to come by and costly. Also seats are hard on the but. It is not half as good as it could be.
