Kia Forte VS Honda Fit?

I'm new to the buying a car and I have narrowed down my search to two cars. A Kia Forte and a Honda Fit. I travel about 18 miles back and forth from home to work. I'm struggling with these two cars. I know the Fit has a great mileage and the forte has great features. I really both of them, just struggling to figure out which one would be better.

The Fit is the better handling car, practical, very well made and more reliable. The Forte has a lot more options for about the same price but Kia/Hyundai has a lot of engine recall issues lately. Your money, your decision. My vote goes to the Fit.

Nobody ever picked a Kia over a Honda unless $ was a big issue.

Honda wins in reliability, hands down.

Also, that Fit will be worth double what that Kia is worth after 3 years. That alone would sway my decision.

Fit is a "stretched"Honda Civic. As the running gear is the same and the engine the same, it is just a body shape change moving it out of a car into more of a (mini sized)Van for hauling stuff. Economy is what it is(only half of my non turbo Diesel Jetta that was 75mpg. So half of that is something I had to get used to.
. I don't see many Kia's anymore. Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, Smart4two& Fiat 500 is what I see mainly with the odd VW here and there. Mitsubishi, Isuzu,. Subaru is suppose to haul serious a55.
Each area is different. F150 is the majority of the trucks on the roads that I see.
Determine in your area by the amount of cars you actually see being driven as to what is popular.

Brand new or Used?

The Honda will exhibit better long term reliability.
