Looking into buying a used car. Which cars should I avoid and which cars should I pursue?
I'm looking into the following
Honda Civic years 2005-2010
Honda Fit years 2007-2010
Toyota Corolla years 2005-2010
Toyota Yaris years 2007-2010
Toyota Echo years 2005
These are all potentially very good cars, but any of them could have been abused and on its last legs. Just find one that you like to drive, that fits your wallet, and that your trusted mechanic approves
All the model vehicle you have listed have potential. Initially, they were all good quality and reliable vehicles. The one you should choose is the one that has been fully and properly serviced and maintained through the last several years. If the seller can't provide proof of all service records you need to keep shopping.
You should be safe if you stick with Honda, Toyota or Nissan products.

- How true is it that you should avoid 1st year cars due to unknown problems? I have always heard that you should avoid the first year cars (new model or major redesign) because they have the most problems. Is this true or a wive's tale? I was thinking about buying the 2016 Honda Civic, which underwent a major redesign, but I'm glad I didn't because they forgot to install some bolt in the engine which causes fires.
- Buying used ATV Quad vs used? I'm trying to buy a atv quad a new one from 2014 a honda trx250x from a dealer is 4,500 out the door is that too high for the model and year? Or good deal? My other choice is a 2007 or 2008 same model but used from craigslist itll cost me between 2,300-2,500 what's the better buy? How good of a deal is this
- Are American cars more reliable now for a while people were just buying Japanese cars like Hondas and Toyotas? I really like the new Chevy Malibu, and I'm thinking about buying one but my dad gets mad and says "no! American cars are unreliable just buy a Honda or a Toyota"… Have times changed?
