What are the best tyres for fuel economy for a Honda Jazz/Fit?
Unless you need a really "aggressive" tread for mud-and-snow driving conditions, the type of tyres (tires in N. America) you use won't really make as much difference as keeping them properly inflated. If you keep them inflated near the higher end of the specified inflation range, then you'll get the best mileage. The effect tires have on gas mileage primarily has to do with rolling resistance. A soft, under-inflated tire doesn't roll as easily. People will tell you to over-inflate them up to 10 pounds to get better mileage, but that has been proven untrue unless all you do is low-speed city driving. What is true is that over-inflation wears them out sooner, defeating the purpose of saving money.
Although the placards in most cars give an exact inflation pressure (something like 32psi in the Fit), the truth is that it depends on the loaded weight of the car. If you've got the seats filled, a full tank of gas and luggage in the back, that extra weight requires more tire pressure. If the car is light with just a driver and a half tank of petrol, it needs less pressure in the tires. The value printed on the inflation placard is usually an average, so refer to the owner's manual. If fully loaded you might need to squeeze in a few extra pounds of air for the trip.

- Why Honda uses thin tyres on their bikes? I'm a big fan of Honda(bikes or cars). But I always wondered why do they use tyres with less width… At least the REAR tyres should have been wider. They use big tyres on high end bikes such as CBR models and VFRs etc. But on normal bikes such as unicorn, shine, stunner, they put very thin tyres.thinner than those found on other manufactures bikes… Why do they do this.to increase fuel efficiency?
- What is the economy speed of cbr 150r (india)? Hi, recently my father bought me a new honda cbr 150r. I want to know at what speed can I get best mileage? I have to travel about 30 km everyday. So I want to get the best mileage it could give. So can you guys please tell me at what average speed should I drive my bike to get maximum mileage?
- Does the fuel tank size have any impact on fuel economy between vehicles? For example the new Honda Accords have a 56 Litre tank while the CRV has a 53 L and the Rogue a 55 L. Now the 2 latters are compact crossovers and are arguably bigger in size than the Accord, so would that mean they are using up more gas? Would that mean its better to buy the Accord if we were going based on just gas mileage?
- If I get a turbo for my car, will it affect my fuel economy? I'm thinking about getting a Honda Civic si and in time I was thinking about putting a turbo kit in it just to have more fun but how would it affect my gas mileage?
