Would a d16y8 head fit in a d16z6 block?

I have a project 97 honda civic ek hatch that doesn't run cause the block is wiped out i found a d16z6 engine to buy but i don't want to rewire stuff so i'm wondering if the d16y8 head would fint on top the z6

Absolutely, should also raise compression if I'm not wrong

Yes it will fit and also raise the compression of the block but it will not be the same compression that the original y8 block had. Resulting in an overall hp loss but it will work mechanically just fine.

  • Where on the engine block would I put a thermometer for a quadbike? I have a Honda 350D and the fan thermostat has broken, rather than spending money replacing the unit I'm looking to wire the fan into a switch. I have also purchased a digital thermometer which I plan to wire in, but I need to place the receiver on the engine block, but which part do I connect it to, top end, or radiator and if so top of the radiator or bottom? (oil cooled).
  • OBD1 cylinder head on OBD2 block? So I have a 97 Honda Accord with the F22b2 motor, it is obd2. Can I swap out my head for the F22b6 head from a 95 Odyssey that is obd1, and not have to worry about any rewiring or cutting or creating electricial problems down the road. Is it just plug and play or do minor modifications need to be made to get it to perform properly?
  • D16y8, d15 faster than my 92 Celica 2.2 5sfe? My brothers have Hondas and is faster than my 92 Celica 5sfe engine. They have a D15 and a D16y8. Why? Is this rite or is there something wrong with my 5sfe?
  • What engines can I directly swap my D16y8 Honda motor for? It has to be more powerful and easy to swap? I have a civic with a d16y8 and its served me well but what motor could I easily swap in? I want to use the same gearbox but I don't mind swaping the ECU. The easier the swap and the more HP the better. Would prefer to use the stock manifold and intake etc.
