Handbrake problem on Honda Jazz?
The handbrake on a 2005 Honda Jazz is acting strange.
Whenever I'm at biting point with the handbrake fully in place, the car will start to move forward regardless of the action of the handbrake.
Also when the car is on an incline of any kind the handbrake is very weak and will not hold the car in order for me to get to the bite and make progress. At times this can be very scary especially when there's a lot of traffic behind.
I don't know why this is happening or what it could be but the car has about 90,000 miles on the clock.
Any ideas?
When applying the handbrake also press down firmly on the foot brake pedal with the engine still running and the brake boost will allow you to get more braking pressure.
If this does not cure it then you need to get the brakes checked as this should sort it
Take it to a mechanic and get the rear brakes adjusted, at 90k miles it may be ready for new shoes in the rear brakes. If its just adjusting its a pretty easy job but not really one for an amateur, if it needs shoes, it will be a bit bigger job, but you shouldn't skimp on your brakes, they are for yours and everyone elses safety
The rear shoe linings may be wearing low or the handbrake cable has stretched according to the amount of clicks the hand lever is at its highest adjustment point. 
The rear brakes or the cable may need to be adjusted or replaced.

When I switch the air con off the squeal stops but sometimes it goes away when I change gear even if the air con is switched on. The squeal lasts about 5 to 8 seconds depending on whether I change gears, switch the aircon off or restart the engine. Does anyone know what the problem is here? I'm guessing it could be the serpentine belt.

- Honda Jazz won't take water in the water fill cap? I recently purchased a Honda jazz 2005 mode from a garage, top condition. I'm going on a long journey tomorrow and routinely like I would with any car I checked the water and oil levels. (cold engine). Water level was halfway between min and max so I attempted to top it up with coolant mix, however, as in poured the h20/coolant mixture into the water tank it just came straight back up as though the tank was full, although I can see it's only half full. Any ideas?
