Has Honda lost it's prestige? - 1

Added (1). It looks like Nissan took over Honda's popularity.

Added (2). Hyundai also stepped up in the competition.

Not that I know of! It's still one of the best cars out there by far.

May be!

Point?

I wouldn't say Honda ever had "prestige"; rather they had developed a rock solid reputation for building excellent economy cars that bordered on indestructible. They have had a few problems in recent years but still have a very good reputation.

Nissan have never had an outstanding record for quality; my friend's 350z is a bigger headache than my Mercedes. Some of their cars are nice looking but I wouldn't put them on the same level as Honda.

Hyundai has improved leaps and bounds in the past decade. They used to be a laughing stock, but have transformed into a solid and well built brand that is capable of challenging Honda and Toyota in dominating the midsize and economy markets. It will be interesting to see how much better they get and how they will be positioned in the future relative to Honda.
