Honda Jazz 2005 CVT (UK)?

Buying 2005 Jazz CVT. Want to know how are the Honda parts compare with other make price wise.
Overall hows the maintenance cost of Honda makes (specifically Jazz).

Being CVT 1.3 how's the pickup of the car?

Honda parts are generally a bit more expensive than usual. But you can often get perfectly good pattern parts for a fraction of the cost.

Generally, the Mk2 Jazz is more reliable than usual so you're less likely to need to buy spare parts. That does not mean you can skimp on maintenance though; they become very unreliable indeed if not regularly maintained.

The engines are a 1.2 or a 1.4 and the CVT was only available with a 1.4. The manual version has reasonably good acceleration, the CVT picks up nicely as well if you engage kick-down (suddenly floor the accelerator pedal) but outside of that acceleration is adequate, but you'll only find out whether it suits you by test driving one.

There's plenty of them, they weren't cheap to begin with, and tended to be bought by slightly better-off private motorists looking for economical running and reliability. That means that you can be a bit picky and avoid any which have very little service history or which look neglected.

They also don't tend to rust, so if you find a rusty one it's likely been poorly repaired after a collision. If so, move on and look at others.

  • I just bought a 2004 Honda Jazz Manual. When I make a turn it squeals? I just bought a 2004 Honda Jazz Manual. When I make a turn it squeals. When I switch the air con off the squeal stops but sometimes it goes away when I change gear even if the air con is switched on. The squeal lasts about 5 to 8 seconds depending on whether I change gears, switch the aircon off or restart the engine. Does anyone know what the problem is here? I'm guessing it could be the serpentine belt.
  • How is the noise level inside a late model Honda Fit with CVT? I have the FIT on my short list for a retirement vehicle when my 2004 Focus dies on me. Some people say the transmission is noisy and I wonder what other people think about it. I really like the amount of safety tech on the 2018 model but I do not want a car any noisier than my 2.3L Focus.
  • Which Honda Civic coupes have CVT transmissions? (06-09)? I plan on buying a Honda Civic coupe between the years of 2006-2010 and I'm trying to figure out if any of those Honda civics have CVT transmissions. I test drove a 2013 Honda Civic coupe EX (automatic) and it felt as if I was driving a manual because you could feel the gears change, it sounded amazing and I loved it. So I'm wondering if any of those years have that same feeling.
  • Thinking of buying a 2019 honda civic coupe but i'm worried how reliable the cvt transmission is? I want to buy a basic honda civic coupe. I want the 2 door because i think it looks cute. But i'm worried how relaible is that cvt transmssion? I want to last atleast 150k miles?
