Honda Vs Toyota ( which better today )?
Anyone know which is better now? I plan to buy new car when my old done payment, but undecide which one, currently i have toyota / honda together and both about a same quality and i see little diff from both
good on toyota >>
toyota start engine quicker than honda
( honda when old stater take longer start up engine )
toyota heat/air condition work longer than honda
good on honda >>
honda quite cylinder when new less noise than toyota
honda build strong shape inteior and exterior
honda save money on gas than toyota
I've known (of) owners of both that have had cars go past 230,000 miles.
Hard to say.
In the market for a the 1st new car myself in 36 years living… I'm not looking at either one but I'm not really being mature/objective, either.
I've owned both. The quality on both is about the same. We sold the Accord because it is a stiffer ride and my wife liked the mushier ride of a Camry. I can say that the Camry is a very quiet car.
(a) Don't judge the new cars by your old cars. They're both good although Honda has a slight edge in reliability according to consumer reports and has slightly better value for the dollar.
(b) Spend some time sitting in both and driving them. Is the seat adjustable to your liking? If you're short, can you adequately see out of the back window or rear side windows when you turn and look behind you? Is the gas pedal at a comfortable position for your foot? Do the mirrors give you adequate rear vision? Are all the controls and accessories in easy reach and not confusing to use? Does it have the features you need? Etc, etc, etc.
(c) Compare the EPA mileage estimates. They're easily found. Look at the total cost of ownership estimates, they're easily found. Read reviews, they're easily found.
Honda makes better engines
Toyota all the way.
Buy what you like and can afford to pay for. Both Honda and Toyota make several different vehicles, which are made for different uses and have different features. Stop posting STUPID questions on an Internet forum and go look at the cars.
For engines, Honda is a technological marvel, and always have been due to their obsession with racing. However, Toyotas have always been more reliable due to their " if it ain't broke, don't fix it mentality. They are usually one of the last to use the latest engine technology because they want to make sure it is perfected before they use it. This makes OEM support more abundant for older Toyotas. Honda's obsession with technology makes them more advanced than any car company out there, but there's a caveat to this. They are always innovating. There are so many changes that they don't make many OEM parts after 10 years.
Hondas are better driver's cars- they handle better than comparable Toyotas. Toyotas are more refined: they are generally quieter and ride smoother than Hondas. Lexus is world -class in this matter because Toyota is about refinement in all of their cars.
Both are very reliable, but Toyotas win in the long term reliability department. You can find Hondas that exceed 300,000 miles on the original engines and trannies, but Toyotas are known to hit half a million if regularly maintained, and I'm not talking about just a handful of cars. Older ones (in particular) were almost bomb-proof. Plus Honda has left a bad taste in my mouth with the ring of automatic tranny issues they were having back in the early to mid 2000's that is practically gone now.
If I were buying new? Depends on which model. Corolla or Civic? Corolla based on preference. The new Civic looks like it was thrown together with a bunch of parts and has an almost gaudy look to it IMO. Camry or Accord? It's a toss up. The Accord is a great car, but do I want a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine or the super refined, almost quiet V6 the Camry offers? The regular 4 cylinder models is fine for both models and you can't go wrong with either one, but if I wanted top of the line, the Camry would be my choice.
With that said, if I were to buy a new Toyota of Honda, which would I choose? If
You can't go wrong no matter which you buy. They are both very reliable cars that will give you years of trouble free service if maintained properly. Just drive them both and choose the one you like the best.
You have the two best makes.
