I have a 2015 Honda rancher that had a crack in the air box. It got so much dirt through the air filter it got into my piston. So it now
Burns oil and I was wonder will it ever stop smoking. I know I have to rebuild the engin so don't even say it. And how long will it take before it losses power.
You should stop running it now before it causes bigger problems that make it ruin the engine block because then you'll need a whole new engine and it's impossble to tell how much life it has left
The damage will not heal by itself. It needs a doctor for surgery, not medicine. The more you let dirt in, the sooner and worse the engine damage will be. Organize your tools so, you won't need to start and stop during this extreme job. Bore and hone the cylinder, install new pistons with rings, and do a valve job.
No it will not stop smoking - you know what you have to do so I won't say it. It may run a while fouling plugs and needing oil added all the time- if you fixed the air box it could smoke for quite a long time and may not wear any more.
Your motor is burning oil because you don't change your oil ad filter every 3,000 miles.
All that happens with out an air filter working is a dirty throttle body.
Have you been getting your valves adjusted every 60,000 miles? Honda's are known for getting tight valves and they need to be adjusted that often.
- I just pulled into the parking lot at work and when I got off my van I noticed I had more space to back up so I tried to turn on my van and? It was dead. I checked the ports and everything looked good. The battery is new. What can it be? I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey EXL
- I'm currently working on a Honda crf70f that had some lines cut and now I have to figure out where they came from I'm new to small engines and all that so I have no Idea where this one line goes. It comes from the carb but there's no where for it to go, I have a picture of it.
- I just got a car sales job about 2 months ago. I'm currently working at Honda and i'm trying to bring customers in through facebook? I'm posting cars in different groups where they advertise cars and also in the market place, and every time i post a car i get about 4 messages about the car. I can never seem to get them to come in the store though, and its frustrating! How do you build value through a message so they have the urge to come in the next day and at least look at what your offering?
- I have a 1980 honda cb650 custom, are air filter pods a good idea? I was thinking of taking out the air box and filter and putting on individual filter pods on the carbs what are the pros and cons of this and what pods do i need particularly for a 1980 honda cb650 custom? Links would be helpful
