I just bought a brand new car and I want to get a different car?

3 weeks ago I bought a 2017 Honda hatchback EX and I want to get the touring instead. I haven't made any payments yet just the down payment of $2000. How should I go about getting a diff car? How much would trade in value be? I got the EX for 24000$

You have made a minimum $2,600 dollar mistake. When you drove the car off the dealers lot it depreciated by 11%.

Your car is worth less than you paid for it. Changing your mind will be expensive.

You now own a used car that is worth far less than what you paid for it. To get a different car you trade in the used car you now own. You will take a big hit. You will have to pay the difference plus the taxes. I would think twice about doing this.

Your car has lost $3500-5000 in value so you'd need that much more to stand a chance. But YES, they'd love to sell you another car.

In civilized countries we use the $ sign before the number.

I have a brilliant idea! Take it back to the dealer and ask!

You have buyers regret. It is a normal reaction. Acting on it would be abnormal.

Sell it.

Putting down ONLY $2000 was very stupid. You are already upside down $3000 or more.
Make sure you chose the right car before committing.
On a new car put down at least one third.
Then pay it off in 3 years or less if the waranty is shorter.
On a used car pay it off in 18 months or less.

No dice without much economic pain.

Buyers remorse is a strong emotion. I suggest you get over it before you make a huge mistake and try to trade that car in on a new one.

Talk to the dealer. Chances are slim but they may be willing to work a deal with you. 3 weeks is a long time, however and you may be out of options.
