That depends on where you live. If I were you, I would sell it private party, you'll get a lot more for it.
Go to Kelly Blue Book or NADA to see a rough estimate of how much you could get for it.
You are going to have to pay taxes on 17,245 (state, federal and any local taxes) so make sure you get at least 6k dollars.
Dealers are cheap on offers
After paying taxes you might be lucky to retrieve 70 to 80% of the MSRP.
The base MSRP price of the 2015 Honda Accord is $22,105. Where do you get $17,245? That sounds like the dealers cost. Sell the car yourself to an individual and you will get way more than selling it to a dealer.
Well, dealers are cheap that way. Expect 2K less as it is now a used car. This is so that the dealership can make money off of it. It had to be bought by the "competition and then the name is transferred to you" so it is not NEW. You might be better off trying to sell it privately, however hopefully the Honda warranty will transfer to the other person. Most likely it will because Honda is pretty good about that. Considering the 2016 are about to hit the lot, you want to sell it quick.
- Roughly how much could I get from selling my hybrid car with a dead hybrid battery? I have a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid with about 175k miles. I'm the second owner and there's nothing else wrong with it besides the dead hybrid battery. The battery is very expensive to replace and it's honestly just more of a financially smart decision to sell it rather than spending about 2,000 on a new battery. I just want to know what is a decent price to let it go for considering the hybrid battery is dead ultimately making it useless until replaced.
- I plan on going to Los Angeles in 2 weeks with my 1999 Honda Civic. Is it safe? Any tips? I've taken my car to la 2 times already and no problems whatsoever. My parents are trying to convince me not to take it this time because it's "old" and other stuff about the mileage. I got a smog check and it passed and now I'm getting a oil change soon before the trip. I'm just wondering, is taking my car a safe choice?
- Which car is better, toyota camry or honda accord if you plan to travel a lot? I'm trying to decide between the two. They look very similar. But in the end I would like a more reliable, stronger, resilient car that can withstand a lot of driving because I plan to travel with it. Which one is better quality and more resilient/stronger in the end?
- What percent of the overall value can I get from a car with serious mechanical problems? I have a 2003 Honda Accord, and I really need to look into getting rid of it. Unfortunately, I bought the car (used) a few years ago ignorant to the fact that it burns oil. This is a problem that I have tried to rectify, but there's simply no solution but to keep adding oil every few days. I keep the car in tip-top condition, but I really do not think I will be able to get much for it in the private party market. Out of a total asking price, what percentage of the value should I ask for?
